I'm Sam Brown; an eclectic, self-motivated animator who specialises in motion capture. I am currently a Senior Gameplay Animator at Cloud Imperium games, where I work on Squadron 42 and Star Citizen.
I previously held the position of 3D Animation Team Lead at Inspired Gaming Group, a Manchester-based company that makes virtual sports products.
I hold a 1st Class Honors Degree in Computer Games Animation from Teesside University.
From May 2013 to August 2013 I was a character animator on a commercial indie game called ShadowBoxer+, a rhythm game that tasks the player with throwing punches to match the music. I animated a variety of playable characters along with an array of background characters.

- A very strong knowledge of the entire motion capture pipeline and hand animation process
- A skilled understanding of the motion capture process in MotionBuilder, Maya, and 3D Studio Max - from import to fully cleaned and altered where necessary
- A beginner's understanding of creature/character/mechanical rigging in 3DS Max
- An intermediate understanding of lighting and cinematography
- A basic knowledge of asset modelling, UV Unwrapping and texturing in Maya and 3DS Max
- Solid communication abilities

- Team lead responsibilities such as work delegation, time management, and constructively critiquing
